Disney bought out or acquired the Marvel Comics group in 2009. But this wasn’t the first time the most famous mouse in the world ever met Marvel superheroes!

On October 31st of 1968, The Amazing Spiderman King Size Special number 5 had this tongue-in-cheek splash page:

Yes, that’s Mickey Mouse as Spiderman, or Spidermouse! He adopted the iconic costume but retained his signature white gloves.

Who knew that 41 years after this mashup was produced Mickey and Spiderman would be family for real?
